Richard Berman

Richard was born in Brooklyn New York and went to college in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Since then, he has lived most of his life in Amherst Massachusetts with his wife and two children.

 Richard has many sides. Many families see him as their therapist. In Amherst, many people see him as their teacher. To his family, he is husband and father. We see him as the artist.

 Richard has been a family therapist and a teacher for years.  His experiences as a therapist, a teacher, a husband, a father and a son, all illuminate the music that he writes. Richard Berman is a very gifted songwriter.  From the sensitive observation, to the literate solidifying of the concept, to the final musical presentation, Richard is spectacular. “Holding hands” illustrates this perfectly.

 Rather than fit Richard’s songs into a mold, they are simply songs that you must hear for yourself.
